Jeff and his Big Tree

Scott,
Chris and I had a fantastic time with Jeff last week 5/22/2010 on the
Rio Blanco.  Let me know if you want a
higher resolution picture for your website since of course these are
trophy fish!  :)
We hope to come back soon

First fish on a fly

Hi Scott,

We are back in the North East and wishing we were still in Pagosa. Just wanted to thank you for being so quick last week to set us up with Jeff. We had an AMAZING trip because of him and can’t say enough good things about him as a guide.

Have a great week,
Becky

I was raised in Northern New Mexico and spent my younger years fishing the Jemez and Pecos River in New Mexico. I started fly fishing with my father in the Pagosa and Vallecito area in the mid 60’s. My father and I built a cabin in the Vallecito area and spent a lot of time exploring and fishing the San Juans.

I moved from Santa Fe to Pagosa about 3 years ago and have been teaching skiing at Wolf Creek Ski Area during the winter.

I think as a guide we are there to help point out all aspects of fishing such as gear, set-up, wading safety, entomology (principals of fly selection), casting, line control, reading the river and catch and release. The biggest thing for me, which is also true for when I teach skiing, is to have fun. Also, relax and enjoy the beauty of the San Juans, and stop and smell the wild roses. Fishing lifts my spirits and I want to relay that feeling to all the people that I fish with.
